SERPOM PURE WATER

SPW was established in 2008, and Geshe Jinpa was the first person responsible for this initiative. In addition to that, he took care of our monastic premises and garden. Geshe Jinpa dedicated service to the monastery commenced upon the establishment
of Sera monastery in 1978, where he assumed the responsibility for overseeing the construction of monasteries, monastic sections, and monks’ dormitories. Remarkably, this invaluable service continued for several decades until his retirement two years ago, at the age of 80.
It is noteworthy to mention that, even in retirement, Geshe Jinpa remains deeply committed to the betterment of the monastery. Now he is 82 years old. SPW provides the community with access to high-quality, purified drinking water. While a liter of water typically cost more than 15 rupees in the market, SPW offers it to the public for the nominal fee of only one rupee.
